He was born to Lord Surya (Sun) and Goddess Chhaya (Shadow) and is acclaimed as- ‘Chhayaputra among his ardent followers Shani is the deity of karma. If your deeds are evil, you’ve been lying, stealing, killing innocents, or as much as have an ego, expect Shani to stand in your way and show you the right path. He might beat you with a stick, but he will bring you on the right path. And if your deeds are good, then it’ll be Shani rewarding you. Shani is impartial. He does not give reward or punishment based on any distinctions. All are equal before Him, whether Man, Woman, or Third Gender, whether Brahmin or non-Brahmin, whether Indian or a non-Indian, whether rich or poor or any other distinction. Shani only sees your Karma, and gives rewards or punishment as per that. So anyone can worship him.
