The Best Tudor? Is this the best watch Tudor has released? There's a specific nuance answer this question. I opine that it depends on which camp you belong to. Camp 1: If you believe that Tudor and Rolex can be seen as one major organization, and consider both having a rich shared history and that it is part of the reason you pay attention to Tudor watches. Camp 2: If you believe in Tudor being its own company and its representation is embodied in its philosophy of 'Born to Dare' means that it is the uniquely Tudor offerings are what makes Tudor special. If you are in Camp 1, I opine the Black Bay 54 makes a very compelling case to be amongst the top running candidates. The caveat being, it is actually very classic (almost dull) in appearance and lacks a unique visual pop (to which I'd say the BB58 Blue makes a compelling case as its color scheme that is more associated to Tudor than Rolex). If you are in Camp 2, I'd argue the best candidate is going to be from the Pelagos line of watches in titanium, with the Pelagos LHD being my top pick. I belong in Camp 1. Furthermore, I have a #TinyWrist . Having tried the BB36, BB58 and Pelagos39, I have no doubt in my mind wearability is the best Tudor has released so far for smaller wrists. I would say that the BB54 is a direct result of convergence of Tudor embracing its past catalog (the first Submariners from both Tudor and Rolex were 37mm), and launching what is effectively the type of tool watch for the mainstream audience that up-market luxury Rolex does not make anymore.
