⭐️ Rosie ⭐️ 2 days post op & can’t believe how amazing she’s doing. She now calls herself Rosie robot 🤖. Due to being born at 30 weeks Rosie developed a pda (patent ductus arteriosus) a blood vessel in the heart that usually closes within a few days of birth. After being monitored by the cardiology team since birth and showing no signs of closing by itself and getting bigger they decided to perform an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) closure using a device called an Occluder which luckily in Rosie’s case was performed using key hole surgery and was extremely successful. The team at Leeds children’s hospital ward L51 really are amazing and work so hard. While on the ward we were visited by @childrensheartsurgeryfund who support all the little heart warriors undergoing treatment and their families such a great charity who have supported over 17’000 children every year 👏so far all thanks to fundraising and donations solely.
