2 Toxascaris leonina ova and a Toxocara canis ovum from a canine fecal float. I use a zinc sulfate float solution with a specific gravity of 1.175 to perform fecal floats. Notice the undulating inner membrane of Toxascaris and the pitted outer membrane of Toxocara. Toxocara can be zoonotic and may cause Occular Larval Migrans and Visceral Larval Migrans in humans. Larvae can pass the placental barrier and prenatal infection of pups can occur.
