Traveling isn’t cheap. It isn’t easy to factor in. It’s not always relaxing. Traveling (especially to another country) requires copious amounts of planning. You have to budget- cut things here and there. All of that said- I don’t regret any of the vacations I’ve booked. If I suddenly had the ability to go back in time, I wouldn’t change a fucking thing. Every single time I take a trip and experience somewhere new, I feel like life is worth living again. Call it wanderlust or escapism, but either way the result is the same. I feel renewed in my soul. It awakens my independence. It reminds me that I trust myself - that I can go anywhere and do anything because I trust in my own body and brain to get me where I need to be. And then there’s the heart of the experience— stepping foot on the other side of the globe, waking up my tastebuds with flavors they’ve never even met before, and having to constantly blink because my eyes cannot even BELIEVE the beauty and newness of what they’re seeing. To me, that’s what life is about, truly. Experiencing every. Single. Bit. Of. It. Biting off just a little more than you can chew because it’s just too damn delicious to skip. We only get ONE life and I want to spend mine DOING it ALL while I can. Don’t even get me started on the people you meet along the way. The people I’ve traveled with to Yellowstone, Bali, and Costa Rica are forever going to live in my heart. They’re so special to me. When you have a shared experience with like-minded (open-minded!) people, it feels like you’re finding small pieces of yourself. Little bits that I didn’t even know were missing. Family.
