Last weekend, I had a blast taking part in a @shecansk8, presented by @bell, activation in Toronto before the @canadaskateboard competition!! 💖 @shecansk8 is @canadaskateboard’s gender equity program. Women, girls and gender diverse folks are invited to come skate or learn to skate, meet, network, and have fun together! 🤙🏼🛹 The goal is to foster an environment where everyone feels welcome, safe and can skate not only without judgment, but feeling encouraged and supported by their peers! We partnered with @impactskateclub and @queerskatetoronto, 2 local skate clubs who already do great work fostering these safe spaces for their communities. It’s always a blast to see people from all ages and levels of ability come together and have fun with skateboarding! 🥰 Growing up, I couldn’t imagine having other girls skate with me (until I met the @skirtboarders!!), so it’s awesome to see so many girls shred these days! 😃 Everyone can be a skater if they want to, and everyone can push their skating to the level that they want, from just riding around to wanting to go to the Olympics.
