This was a stressful one 😂 Fishing a Mctail Bigtail in the evening, just minutes before complete darkness. I can barely see where the lure is at and when I spot it just in front of me and reel in the last bit so only the leader is between the rod and the lure a big pike emerge from underneath the boat, very calmly it inhales the whole thing on the surface. I set the hook and with max drag all hell breaks loose. The big pike is throwing it's head and dancing in the surface while I run around the boat with it musky-style to get to my net. Unsure if I should release drag or go for it I put my thumb on the spool and muscle it straight into the net. All good but a very stressful and short fight on maximum 10 seconds 😂 11,3kg muscle over 117cm 😍 The lure setup was a Svartzonker Mctail in Sober color with a dark Black and Gold Bigtail rigged tail down. Weighted up front with 15gr on a RIP Adapter. A color combination that quickly becoming a favorite!
