When @maizalimarock has a break in her whirlwind schedule, finds herself back in Washington, and needs a cleansing day in the mountains, I’m always happy to oblige. Nothing better than reconnecting with old friends and climbing new routes. — In an effort to capture this feeling, I climbed Beyond Redlining with my #mavicmini3pro drone and we shot a quick lap on the best pitch of the neighboring route (Mile High Club), which also serves as the descent route from the peak. This is one of the few alpine climbing areas in Washington that is in a non-wilderness area, allowing for the development of bolted alpine climbing routes (without the need to hand drill the bolt holes), and making it possible to capture an aerial perspective, as drones are rightly prohibited in wilderness areas. — As a person with somewhat conservative ethics in both climbing and photography, I have mixed emotions about alpine sport routes and drone shooting, but I gotta admit, there’s a lot of fun to be had with both when used with care. Nothing but respect and gratitude to the developers of the two amazing routes on this peak.
