May I present “Last Call”, a collaborative artwork I built with the help of street artists @d7606art, @StickermaidBerlin and litter pickers from Great Britain - please have a look at their contributions at my website: https://www.trashmaidberlin.de/PROJEKTE/UNITED-STAR-OF-EUROPE/UNITED-KINGDOM   The dimensions of the artwork are 96 x 36 x 5 cm. The artwork will be on display during my exhibition next year at the German Environment Agency.   What you see is the famous British broadcaster, biologist, natural historian and author Sir David Attenborough sinking into yellow plastic trash in one of the iconic British phone boxes. Hear what Sir David has to say about the global plastic problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW3jEIYBFzg   The trash Sir David is sinking in comes from all parts of Great Britain: England, Scotland and Wales. The idea for this artwork came to me when British litter pickers wanted to take part in my United-Star-of-Europe-Project - for more information see https://www.trashmaidberlin.de/PROJEKTE/UNITED-STAR-OF-EUROPE   In this project I will build a star of the EU flag with yellow plastic trash from all member states. Since Brexit, the UK is no longer part of the EU, which I badly regret and which is the reason why the British cannot be part of the star project. So I came up with the idea of setting up an extra project: The UK may no longer be a member of the EU, but it belongs to Europe and I feel deeply connected to it. We are also connected through plastic trash... we have the same problems, the trash we find is the same everywhere. It is spread all over the world via the oceans. Only together can we find a solution.
