this was the day i let luna ‘move in’ with ivy. 🥺 i had planned on having her sleep in another cage until she was a bit older but ivy was so stressed with ‘her baby’ being out of sight that i ended up giving in. luckily it went very smoothly and ivy did an amazing job caring for luna. their bond is so special and i’m so relieved that luna’s obsession with archie hasn’t ruined her relationship with ivy. they still spend a lot of the day like this, and sleep snuggled up every night ❤️ • edit: for anyone who doesn’t know this story, i’ll try to give a short(ish) overview… ~ in 2018 i was hand rearing baby conures and ivy got really attached to them. she fed, preened and snuggled with them, acting like a surrogate mama bird. when they went to their new homes she was depressed, and started shredding her feathers, rejecting food and staying in her ‘bed’ all day. i decided that as soon as there were more babies i’d let her pick one to keep, and that’s exactly what i did the following year. she eventually chose luna, and spent all her time fussing over her new baby. while luna played ivy would watch over her and scream for me if she though luna was doing something ‘dangerous’,. basically she’s the best mama ever and luna’s very lucky to have her! 🥰 . . . . . . . . . . #greencheekconure #pineappleconure #greencheek #conure #conuresofinstagram #conures #conurelove #conuresofig #conuresonly #engagednotcaged #instaparrot #featheredfriends #parakeets #parakeetsofinstagram #fluffybird #parrotsofig #parrotstagram #instaparrots #cutebird #petbird #parrotlife #parrotlover #petsofinsta #parrots #gcc #pineapplegreencheekconure #birb #birbsofinstagram #greencheekedconure
