I love this photo. Or more accurately, I love what it represents. ⁣ ⁣ I actually took it by accident. This was a few weeks ago when @thecheekybikini sent me the bright orange bikini and I was shooting photos of it. I had my Nikon D50 set up on a tripod in the lake and was playing around with the settings, battling the bright light and shadows. ⁣ The camera was tethered to my phone and I accidentally snapped the pic as I was changing settings on the screen. ⁣ ⁣ I went to delete it later, after all it was a mistake. But then I saw my smile and how genuine it was in this moment. And I knew I had to hang onto it as a reminder of how far I’ve come in my body image and self love journey. ⁣ ⁣ Now don’t get me wrong: I still have my bad days. ⁣ ⁣ I don’t always look in the mirror and like what I see. ⁣ ⁣ I still find myself comparing my body to others and wishing it was different. ⁣ ⁣ But 10 years ago you wouldn’t catch me dead in a bikini. And here I was genuinely happy taking photos (to share on a public platform) of me wearing one. ⁣ ⁣ So I’m sharing it as a reminder to myself of my growth and hopefully as inspiration to others who struggle. ⁣ My relationship with my body is still a journey, but I’m proud of myself and how far I’ve come. ⁣ ⁣ #selflove #bodyimage #allbodiesaregoodbodies #orangebikini #selflovejourney
