RACE RECAP / THOUGHTS PART 2 I went into Leadville with one word in my mind GRATITUDE. Gratitude that I have the ability to attempt such an audaciously long race, gratitude for a the support I had in training and getting to the race, and gratitude for all the people that put their life on hold to come out to Leadville and support me over the course of the weekend. And, while it was not as much of a thought before the race, I came to develop gratitude for my fellow racers, the ones that stopped in the middle of their race to help pick me up every single time I fell down (which happened many many times). During the 15+ hours I was out on the course that thought never left my mind, there were so many dark spots during the day and it always helped pull me back into the present moment, and kept me moving forward. This race was straight up not possible without my amazing crew and pacer. The heroes of the day that got me in and out of aid stations and brought my spirits up when they were low. I can't thank @tinamuir88, @grasela97 and @its_jaybird enough for all they did for me. Crewing is utterly exhausting but these amazing humans took it on with everything they had.
