Truths and thoughts that tear me apart Even two years ago, I used to be the person full of life and positivity. Everywhere I looked, it was all golden. And then life decided to take away parts of my soul and now I see my life trying to struggle free from turning grey and blurry. I've always been tight with my family members. And in the last couple of years, I've lost a lot of them, to death. People I saw all the time growing up. Each death shrinks my soul a little more. I cannot live fully. There's always that fear at the back of my mind of losing more of my gems. And I count my blessings every night, hugging gratitude tight for all those whom I have. Sometimes I like to think of a scenario where I could have all of my people back again on one fine Friday afternoon dawat just like the old times - a house full of smiling faces - my family. The smell of polau is filling the house; everybody is there. The loud chatter; another family member comes through the main door and says, "I could hear the sound of all of your laughter even from the stairway! You're so loud!" Everyone is just present.
