Hello hello! And happy September. Naturally I am biased because it’s my birthday month but it really is the best month of the year. It’s basically a new year without the misery, pinching overdraft and freezing temperatures of January. What’s not to love? Hope your summer has been dandy. I went all European and decided to take much of August off work (and the grid) and it was quite the game-changer. Highlights were a holiday in Dubai and back home, the exceptional Freddie Mercury exhibition at @sothebys. So many incredible pieces from his home. I will try to share some footage on Stories later today. It’s only got a day or so left now, but I would highly recommend seeing it if you can. Anyway…! Kitchens!! This fantastic detail shot which I spotted via the lovely @louiseroehome is from @tyntesfieldnt taken more than 20 years ago by James Mortimer for @theworldofinteriors. It is testament to the fact that a well-chosen piece or design will almost always stand the test of time. I do love gloss on kitchen cabinetry (Sap Green by @farrowandball is similar to this shade) and have seen a growing interest in them although admittedly high-gloss can be very high-maintenance and unforgiving of fingerprints and marks. But then again if we chose everything purely based on convenience, life would be rather dull, wouldn’t it? Ok enough yap - hope you all have a great week in store.
