The thought of telling people/showing people my Alopecia was so much worse than the Alopecia itself. I was particularly nervous when getting a new partner, first showing my friends & being around kids bald. People react in different ways but all have one thing in common - KINDNESS!✨ Partners - Showing someone you are in a new relationship with can be the scariest thing in the world! How do I tell them? How do I show them? How will they react? Will they still fancy me without a wig?! All of these thoughts/questions are totally normal (sadly). I have always hidden my Alopecia for as long as I could, until I met Jack. With Jack it felt different & on our first date we decided to go to Thorpe Park, where I obviously couldn’t wear a wig. It was extremely nerve racking but one of the best decisions I made. From day dot, he has loved, supported, fancied & given me confidence when braving my baldness. I truly believe that my confidence & love for Alopecia is 90% down to this lovely guy! If your partner/new person you are seeing isn’t making you feel all of the above, bin them off because you are worth so much more (with or without hair)! ✨🫶🏼💕 Friends - Another group of people I have always been nervous to show the real me to. This is nothing to do with my friends are they are all incredible people but more my own insecurities & thoughts. I didn’t want them to be embarrassed to have me as a friend or feel like they couldn’t say certain things because they felt “sorry” for me. True friends will be there for you through thick & thin! In the grand scheme of things does hair affect friendships? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
