When life gives you lemons 🍋 Anyone who has ever built a house will tell you it’s not an easy experience nor does it ever go according to plan. 🫠 We had a completion date of Aug 1 and therefore told the buyers of our old home (who purchased from us via word of mouth and by owner and had been patiently waiting for months) that they did not need to extend their lease in Sept. When September arrived, we had to be out which meant moving with no power in a hurricane 😵‍💫. Our new house, like any new build, has had some setbacks and it did not pass inspection nor was it really live-in ready where we could unpack or settle in. Thankfully Zach had already had a work trip planned and the accommodations had room to squeeze in 5 extra people 🤪 We’ve made the most of this weird week. Beach night, fishing attempts, and even some quality time with Britt getting to walk the FSU campus together which I haven’t done since college ❤️ Now we have to head “home.” To a house that we know (even with the extra week) still isn’t completed. To a place that doesn’t (yet!) feel like ours. But we have each other. Thankful for this time together and the break between the hard move out and the chaotic move in. Our word for Team Parker has been “perseverance” and we are prayerfully ready to face the next set of challenges together!
