Fitness has been a huge part of my life ever since I was a kid. It all started by doing ballet and gymnastics when I was about 8 (which I was apparently too tall for) to joining the track and field team at my school when I was 13. Little did I know, athletics would become a huge part of my life and I would one day become high jump junior champion. Needless to say, movement has not only been hugely important to strengthen my body, but it’s been also one of the ways to keep a good mental health on track. A year ago I experienced life changes that made me stop prioritizing movement and my very strict fitness routine and by default, it completely impacted the way I was feeling mentally and physically. It took me a while to be able to figure out how to include movement in this new chapter to be honest. After falling on the deep end and feeling mentally overwhelmed and completely drained, I’ve realized that prioritizing movement and my fitness routine should be a non negotiable for me, no matter what. I feel lucky to have @saintsandstars , a place where I not only go to get stronger, but that is also a place where I can disconnect from the world to re-connect with my body.
