👏🏻👏🏻Bertha has been doing well since being discharged from the hospital! 🎉🎉 She is sweet as pie to everyone she meets! She has been a little picky about kibble but we discovered that she loves Fresh Pet food. Yummy! Kibble is kinda gross anyway. 🤢Most dogs prefer fresh food made from healthy ingredients like the Just Food For Dogs DIY recipes or Fresh Pet sold at Target, Costco and Petsmart. Bertha’s mammary tumor biopsy came back as carcinoma, grade II/intermediate grade. Clear margins were successful at the time of surgery and chest x-rays and abdominal ultrasound were all clear. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 We have an oncologist consult on 9/22 but unsure how we feel about chemotherapy. We have to hear what the options are, what the statistics are for reoccurrence if we do or do not pursue chemotherapy. We want to make the best choice for Bertha and intend to be very thoughtful and super informed with the pros/cons before pursuing chemo, if that is what the recommendation is. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Chemo can be controversial and if we can find Bertha an adopter soon, we would like them to participate in the decision about how to best move forward. Since she currently appears to not have any indications of cancer spreading, we are hopeful for her future. We are looking for a forever home for Bertha, who might be five to seven years old.
