So much of the process of making Emerging Ecologies has been a dream, but commissioning a new drawing from James Wines for a special poster for the exhibition counts as one of the top highlights. Many of James’s drawings have stayed with me since college, challenging received ideas about architecture and the environment. James’s work tells alternate narratives, and the force of his storytelling can change the way we think about and understand the world. That James and Emilio Ambasz are old friends, and that he made this drawing really as a tribute to their lifelong relationship adds to the singularity of this poster.
