Have you tried goetta? It’s a regional dish from the Cincinnati area. Pronounced “get-uh,” Goetta is a German style breakfast sausage that blends pork, beef, whole grain steel-cut oats, onions, and spices. Similar to scrapple, you slice it up and fry it. We love it in a bacon and egg sandwich. Goetta is so popular in Cincinnati that they even have an annual goetta fest. In the Columbus area you can find goetta at some Kroger, UDF and independent grocery stores. @gliersgoetta is the largest brand.
