Sam Laidlow is this year's IM World Champion! After his breakthrough 2nd place performance during last year's IM World Championships in Kona, the expectations have, rightfully so, been weighing heavy on @samlaidlow ever since. But a string of bad luck this season has kept Sam from proving that his impressive showing in Hawaii wasn't a fluke. Until yesterday, that is. On home soil, the 24-year-old French phenomenon proved he wasn't a one-hit wonder by piecing together a masterclass performance worthy of the IM World Champ crown. A title he's now the youngest-ever male winner to hold. "I was just a kid saying that I wanted to be World Champ, and here I am", Sam uttered through tears in his emotional post-race interview. And indeed you are, Sam - we couldn't be prouder of you! And a very honorable mention also goes out to our friend @magnuselbaekditlev who battled home to take 3rd place even though he wasn't on his best of days.
