Today was our final day of vacation. ☀️ As you can see, Avery had an amazing time! She absolutely loves the water – which is a miracle itself due to the fact that she couldn’t even be fully immersed in it until last year. Her PICC line during treatment prevented that from happening. Yet this trip she loved every part of water play.💧 Why do we take family vacations often? Because it’s a reprieve from the reality we continue to face at home. With Avery, our biggest stress is getting her to eat as she continues to pull away from her toddler formula. As recent as today, we had another therapy company ask for insurance information. But that’s as far as we keep getting with each of them.😞 Beyond that though, there’s a mountain of stress that we don’t talk about here. Things beyond Avery’s physical health and much more about our mental health. Unfortunately, we can attest to most of the statistics found in these graphics.🥺 Any family trial is a challenge. Cancer is an absolute nightmare no matter how you view it. We continue to push through and do our very best to give Avery (and Ry) everything we have – even on the days when we feel like there’s nothing left.
