Motorsport is made of machines, but it is made epic by those who get on top of those machines. We are used to focusing our chat on rules, politics, technique or worse, on the money needed and how much is needed. But then two 50-year-olds arrive and give you a race like the one on Sunday in Germany. And then you discover that the same guys thirty years ago were twenty years old, and they were doing the same thing, as if there was no tomorrow. In fact, there was no tomorrow, let's be clear, in the good sense of the term: a few glimpses of racing cars, but then nothing. Only karting, even when everyone else had stopped. Forè and Manetti are first and foremost two kart drivers, who have remained kart drivers - giving great dignity to this sport - in a way that has not been possible to undermine. Two kart drivers still in love with this sport: an almost uninterrupted career for Forè, a return after a long absence for Manetti, two amazing drivers. And so while the commentary during the weekend continually refers to Max Verstappen and how FIA karting is now in all respects contaminated by F1 and its capital, these two 50-year-olds have shown us that karting can still be only and exclusively karting: 4 small wheels , an ace sitting on it, down to earth.
