💐Book Mail: Murder Your Employer - McMaster Guide to Homicide 💐 ⁉️: Do you think that capital punishment can make the world a “safe place”? It’s this question that came to my mind as I read the synopsis of this novel. While I am not usually a fantasy-thriller reader, this book seems to be something up my alley. If you enjoyed any of these shows or book collections dedicated to Harry Potter, then you are in for a treat because that is exactly what Edgar Award-winning novelist, playwright, and story-song writer Rupert Holmes brings his readers an unimaginable and diabolical thriller in which academia is dedicated to educating students the art of murder where students study how best to “delete” their most deserving victim!! 😱🫢 Called The McMasters Conservatory, the school is dedicated to teaching homicidal arts - a sentence I never thought I would end up writing one day. And, to get admission into this school, a student must have an ETHICAL reason for reasoning someone who deeply deserves a fate no worse than death. The campus of this “Poison Ivy League” college - is where your mandatory graduation thesis is getting away with murder of someone whose death will make the world a better world to live. I personally struggle with capital punishment. Given that my scholarship has focused on the #MeToo movement, and social justice for victim-survivors of sexual violence, I think about this question often. There was a trend in the 1980s in Hindi cinema when rape victims became avenging women killing their perpetrators to gain social Justice because the judicial system was against them. I am looking forward to reading this book to understand what the author means when the student needs an “ethical” reason to kill - I feel like that’s still an eye for an eye - I don’t know - perhaps a food for thought 💭!
