When I shared this picture on my stories over the weekend, I had so many people get in touch. This was my slow Saturday set up. A coffee at the kitchen table, reading the handwritten letter I received from my grandma. So many people love receiving letters like this it turns out (and of course, the accompanying stationery required for this lost art). I've got to say, I do really enjoy a moment of quiet, getting to take in all the latest news from my grandparents like this (I should be better and write back, rather than just phone 🙈). Lots of people ask us if we miss family and friends since moving. Of course we do. We couldn't really think too hard about it when we were going through the process, otherwise we could have talked ourselves out of it quite easily, and it was a very emotional week before we left. But actually, what we've found is that while we can't see each other as much, when we do it's proper quality time. And we find many other ways of staying in touch (including traditional handwritten letters, and through the more modern method of my witterings on here). Anyway, here's a little snippet of a treasured moment of calm, helping to mentally prepare myself to get back into the groove of the working week.
