Celebrating #WorldRhinoDay ! Poached for their horns due to their usage in Chinese medicine, these beautiful creatures have faced multiple hurdles to survive. Habitat destruction is another such challenge. While some species have been protected well around the world, some of them have gone extinct as well. The Great Indian rhinoceros, also known as the one-horned rhinoceros, holds a vulnerable status and is native to the Indian subcontinent. Only about 3200 of them remain in the wild now, with Kaziranga holding about 2600 of them.
