A little slow stitching tonight after a very physically exhausting week! More than a year ago I had to replace my sewer and water lines leaving my lawn a mess but this week I finally got around to dealing with it. After picking up 10 40lb bags of topsoil earlier in the week I made 3 more trips today for an additional 28 bags… so today I carried 1,120 lbs of dirt from my car and up the stairs, definitely getting too old for that! Also fixed loose boards on my deck and sealed it. Meanwhile going through and emptying my basement I found a couple of pieces my mom stitched way back in the 70’s, this one was supposed to be a heart pillow but I decided to put it on linen and quilt it using extra high loft batting under the heart and adding lots of seed stitches to make the smaller hearts pop. My mom is gone 35 years but I’m sure she’d be delighted we got to work on a piece together! This will be a gift for my sister who happens to be my mom’s namesake ❤️ #slowstitching #quilting #handquilting #handstitched #embroidery
