This “Sunken” Apple Cake makes it easier to say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn. If coziness had a smell it would be freshly baked apple cake for me.✨ I hope you enjoy this fluffy & juicy cake that will fill your home with cozy autumn vibes.🍂 Ingredients: 4-5 apples 2 Tbsp maple syrup 2 Tbsp almond flakes 250g spelt flour 150g raw cane sugar 1 tsp baking powder ½ tsp baking soda ½ tsp cinnamon ¼ tsp cardamom ¼ tsp salt 150g (vegan) butter (room temperature) 250g apple sauce, unsweetened Ingredients: 1. Add butter and sugar to a mixing bowl and beat until creamy. 2. In a separate bowl mix flour, baking powder and baking soda, cinnamon and salt. 3. Slowly mix the flour mixture into the sugar butter-mixture until well combined. 4. Evenly spread the batter in a greased and floured baking tin (26 cm). 5. Peel and core the apples. Cut apples in half and thinly slice each half lengthwise without cutting all the way through. 6. Press apple halves onto the batter, brush with maple syrup and sprinkle with almond flakes. 7.
