There is no Earth without art. #CreateCOP by @artpartner is an annual competition aimed at raising awareness around the urgent issues that the @unclimatechange conference (Aka COP) should be tackling. The initiative invites creatives of all nationalities, races, genders, and faiths, aged 14-30 to submit work that sheds light on the climate-related issues prevailing in their communities. All artistic mediums are accepted including, but not limited to, photography series, docu-style and experimental film, performance art, spoken word, musical compositions, fashion design, and social media projects. This feels especially significant with this year’s #COP28, set to take place in Dubai with Sultan al-Jaber, head of one of the world’s largest oil companies, as president-designate—a decision that has attracted furious backlash. The competition also aims to help connect the dots for positive change by creating links between people, platforms, businesses, governments and organisations all over the world. Submissions are open for #CreateCOP28 until October 16th. Eight finalists, chosen by a globally recognized panel of judges including our very own Editor-in-Chief @willowonearth, will be awarded cash prizes of $10k, $5k or $2k.
