The ritual is conducted on Amavasya (new moon). It can be repeated every month or every year. Kalabhairava Shanti can be done any time after death. However, another process called Kalabhairava Karma can be done within a certain period of time after someone’s death. An yearly Kalabhairava Shanti process is also conducted on Mahalaya Amavasya. Mahalaya Amavasya marks the beginning of Devi Pada (a phase of the year considered favorable to access Devi, since the feminine aspects of the planet are more pronounced). The Kalabhairava Shanti process takes place during the midnight Sandhya on this auspicious day. - 𝐀𝐠𝐧𝐢 𝐀𝐫𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐦 An offering of fire to Devi Linga Bhairavi, Agni Arpanam is an expression of gratitude for everyone and everything that has contributed to and nurtured our lives. This process can be done for all of the ancestors and departed relatives for whom one does not have names, photos, or any necessary details.
