I finished all 6 rounds of chemotherapy and I have another PET scan in November to make sure it’s all clear. If it is, I’ll be in remission. If all goes well I’ll be o-fish-ally cancer free in 5 years, just before my 30th birthday. It’s crazy that it’s already been 6 months since all this started. I have changed as a person SO much. The growth has been exponential. It feels like it’s been years but at the same time it feels like days. Sometimes I feel like everything happens for a reason, and sometimes I don’t. Either way, I know I’ll be swimming out of this storm as a stronger, better mermaid with a much deeper appreciation for life. Please, please, please remember how short life is. Don’t wait for a catastrophe before you start living for yourself. Follow your dreams now. Do what makes you happy now. Spend time with people who lift you up, not with people who drag you down.
