Happy Mid Autumn Festival 中秋快乐 ! The moon is round to signal the completion of the season. On this powerful and beautiful moon we in Chinese tradition celebrate by lighting lanterns, eating moon cakes, celebrating the moon, and being together with loved ones. This particular moon happens nearest to the Fall Equinox always takes on the name “Harvest Moon - a time when farmers would rely on the light of the bright moon to work late into the night, bringing the bounty of their crops in from the fields. Although now the meaning has shifted, we still need to count the blessings in our lives and show gratitude for all that we have. Emotionally it is said that this time can bring karmic conclusions to important events in one’s life. It is also a period for personal growth and healing. Do take time to reflect, show and feel gratitude, and connect to your wishes and desires. Seek the balance between reality and dreams, even habits. Gracefully let go of everything that doesn‘t set you up to reach your goals— foods, friendships, relationships, environments, dependencies... whatever it may be.
