I don’t normally post content related to my work as a teacher but I was compelled to share this video that my students and I made along with the incredible @eva_garland_ at the end of lockdown. It was devastating to hear about the violent felling of the ancient Sycamore Tree at Hadrians Wall in England. It is yet another tragic symptom of our disconnect from our very being on this planet. We can blame individuals but this has happened in a wider context of rootlessness. I’m not really sure about hope anymore, what it even means but I’ve never felt more connected as a teacher and being with young people than I do now, they are future ancestors THEY MADE THIS 💚🌱💚🌱💚🌱 . #futureancestors With kind permission to share also from the crew @lwspellsongs who only recently saw the video and loved it.
