Well it’s official! NO MORE AP PSYCHOLOGY! 😭😭 . As of yesterday 3 days before getting students, it was confirmed that we are having to change our curriculum completely. Most districts in the State of Florida are pivoting to a class from Cambridge called AICE Psychology. This comes after many psych teachers had a glimmer of hope when a letter from the commissioner stated we could teach AP psych however it had to be “age appropriate”. I guess with the statement being too vague, so teachers ultimately could get in trouble if they teach the true curriculum! It’s risky and no one wants to be arrested. Such nonsense and so much stress on all these teachers who have less than 48 hours to prepare for students! . The class is still college credit however since it is mostly a research class and it only covers some of the topics in psychology it will only count as an elective college credit. I feel so bad for the kids who most truly love AP psychology and this is only hurting them. . With that said I have a TON of work to do now but I will try to stay positive and make the best of it. I will try to include as much good psychology as I can or should I say that I’m allowed 😂🙄. Thanks to all those who reached out and had encouraging words. It really meant a lot!!! I pray AP comes back eventually but until then here we are! I’m sure glad it’s Track Tuesday, I need to run off some frustration ! 😅🏃🏼‍♀️ Thoughts? .
