Come make Filipino food with me! ☺️🇵🇭 If you're new here or you still haven't figured it out, @johnrickalmonte and I are Filipinos and as someone born and raised in the Philippines we do miss a lot of Filipino foods that we had growing up. Luckily, there are a lot of Filipino restaurants near us, but nothing beats Filipino home-cooked meals! 🥹 This recipe is for Filipino Leche Flan. 🍮 It's one of my favorite Filipino desserts and no celebration is complete without it! If you're curious of its history, I shared it in stories! 😊 INGREDIENTS: • 10 pieces eggs - you will only need the egg yolk • 1 small can condensed milk • 1 cup evaporated milk or whole milk • granulated sugar • 1 tsp vanilla extract INSTRUCTIONS: • separate the yolk from the egg white and put in a bowl • add the condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla extract. Mix well then set aside • put granulated sugar inside the llanera (mold) then put it on top of the stove and wait until the sugar caramelize - usually it's good when it turns into a light brown color but I like waiting until it's a bit darker. The almost burnt caramel gives the leche flan a hint of coffee flavor. • wait until it cools down or about 5 minutes then pour the egg yolk and milk mixture in the mold • cover the top of the mold with an aluminum foil and steam the mold for about 25 to 30 minutes in medium heat - you can also check if it's done using toothpick • once you're done steaming, let the temperature cool down then refrigerate * pro tip - pour it on a strainer once to for a smoother texture! 💯 ENJOY!! ☺️ Hope you guys try this!
