There are moments in my life that I have to just pinch myself. and this is definitely one of them. There’s so much talk about building generational wealth, healing generation trauma, and how your / my / our actions now can have big and small impacts on those to come... but for some reason seeing my son get his hair cut @anticabarbieriacolla1904 - in this absolutely magnificent - opulent space - filled with so much history just brings it home to me. Think about it. My family immigrated to the United States from the Caribbean. My parents both came from humble means - but my mom - she and her whole family (all 12 of them) grew up in a wooden stilt home in the country. I have a very vague memory of being in my grandmoms house of one lonely light buld hanging from black electrical cord in a room. And that they didn’t have an indoor bathroom in their home for years. (That definitely stuck out to me, in my childhood mind) And now in the blink of an eye in the grand scheme of things - in a lifetime that my mother gets to see - her grandson can come and cut his hair - here. This gets to be his normal. This gets to be his set point, for all the beautiful adventures (and lessons) that life will bring him. And I helped to create that for him. (LOL - obviously his daddy did too) Think about it ... all of the series of events that led up to this moment in time. This gets to be my life. This gets to be my son’s life. We are blessed.
