✨birth story | at 41 weeks & 2 days, baby girl came into this world with dark brown hair looking just like daddy. Giving birth was the most empowering thing I’ve ever done. I was well on my way to being induced — I had been 4 cm & -1 station for 4 weeks. Personally, I really did not want that, so I did the Miles Circuit & began pumping to induce labor on my own. It worked! After 2 days of pumping 15 min each side 2x a day, I went into labor. Guys pumping will give you BRUTAL contractions. We got to the hospital and I was only at 4.5cm, but luckily they let me keep pumping so I didn’t have to go home 🤣. If I had waited until the 3-1-1 rule, she would have been born at home. My contractions were never perfectly spaced out, some were 7 min apart in active labor. It was completely random. I desired a natural birth, but gave myself grace to get an epidural after everything I’d been through w/my health the last 3 years. I also know that epidurals affect the baby and had plans in place to detox/clear Windsor of any drugs afterwards. The more you know! After 11 hrs, my water still had not broke, and once they broke it, she was born an hour later. We took Bradley method classes, which I highly recommend even if you don’t plan on a natural birth in order to know your rights as a parent & when to accept certain interventions.
