This has been the greatest August of our lives…. As I reflect on my labor I am grateful for my doula sis @shawndowens @butterfly_pea_black_doula who told me to hold my birth plan loosely. I wasn’t devastated when plans shifted. The number one goal was to get me and Justice on the other side alive and well. That was accomplished. 🙌🏾 I labored with movement up until about 48 hours when my body was tapped out at only 7 cm. And I’m not gonna tell y’all how Justice had turned again during labor and they had me on the bed doing spinning babies exercises (Google it) to turn her back 😩. I was spent 😂! That’s when I elected for a c section. I just wanted my baby in my arms. During my c section @mrjefftyler played Psalm 23 by Jeff Majors in the room so she was birthed to worship. And then they laid my baby on me cheek to cheek. It was the most beautiful, peaceful, experience of our lives. The Lord was with us. Also, @mrjefftyler was and has been an amazing partner, advocate, and now father.
