On a scale of 1-10, how comfortable are you without your mask? 🤿🤔 In 2013 when I did my Open Water course, I was not comfortable with any of the mask skills. To be underwater without my mask and same time breath from my regulator was something I found scary and preferably avoided. Later on I realised how important this skill actually is. To be calm, relaxed and not panic if your mask breaks, falls off or leaks. Nowadays I clear my mask multiple times during a dive due to a lot of laughing 😄 During my courses with @tdisdiphilippines we practised this a lot. To be able to stay calm and same time deal with tank leaks, ascents or a buddy without a mask. One of my favourite words our instructor @mattreedx at @evolutiondivingmalapascua taught us is “redundancy”. To always have a backup waiting in your pocket.
