Easy kimchi for beginners! We’ve been making soooo much of this kimchi lately! We’re by no means experts, but this recipe is really great because it can be eaten straight away without any fermentation but still has delicious flavour 😇 that’s why it’s known as ‘shortcut’ or ‘emergency’ kimchi! Here’s all the ingredients you’ll need CABBAGE: 1 Wombok cabbage Salt Water KIMCHI PASTE: 3/4 cup gochugaru chilli flakes (you can get these from Korean supermarkets) 3/4 cup hot water 1 x apple sauce packet/jar (a baby food one is fine!) 6 tbsp fish sauce 3 tbsp sugar 1 x julienned carrot 4 x chopped spring onion 10 x minced garlic cloves All the steps for making the kimchi are in the video! Kimchi is quite expensive if you buy it ready made in the supermarket nowadays, last time we checked and our favourite brand was $14 for a small bucket 😢 so making our own is a budget friendly way to keep our grocery bill down!
