Please DO NOT dump pets in our parks! 📢 It saddens us to make this post, but this scenario happens more often than you’d think. Every year, our staff finds animals that do not belong in our parks because someone dumped them there instead of finding a safe home for them. When they are dropped off in our parks, they are unable to survive. If you have a pet that you can no longer care for, please try calling local pet shops, shelters or animal rescues. Please help us pass this message along to others. Back story: Unfortunately we do not have the resources to do save dumped pets. It took days to finally get the turtle out of Mirror Lake. Krohn cannot take pets found in parks, but in this case they made an exception. The turtle, however, did not make it. We aren't sure why, but the important message to take away here is not to dump pets. We aren't sure how long the turtle was in the lake and it could've already gotten sick by the time staff found it. #cincyparks #cincinnati #animalrescue
