4 stars for this dark academic, historical fiction novel about stealing dead bodies and using them for science 🧪🔭🥼 plus, a sprinkling of feminism. does that sound right up your street? i definitely recommend this book, especially if you want to read something set in the gorgeous edinburgh, scotland!! it’s beautifully written and will grip you from beginning to end. we have boys digging up dead bodies, a girl dressing up as her dead brother to get into anatomy classes, and a deadly plague ripping through the city. i loved living inside this world that mixed an epidemic with romance. finding love in the midst of a dystopian world is one of my favourite tropes. if you like the hunger games, i think you’ll love this! drawbacks for me included: minor plot holes, some pacing issues, nonchalant explanations of major plot points and a hurried attitude through the main conflict points of the book. with all that being said, i’m definitely going to pick up the second book in this duology! + + + + 🏷️ edinburgh, explore scotland, scotland, books, dark academia, anatomy book, book review, book recommendations, dystopian books, #booksofig #edinburghbloggers #edinburghlife #booksinthewild #readingcorner #anatomyalovestory #bookreview #bookreviewer
