Create safe conversations that can make a difference in someone’s life 💛 @ruokday HOW DO WE DO THAT?⬇️ 1️⃣ASK * Pick the right moment * Ask are you ok? Is everything alright? In a way that feels right for you. Point out things you may have noticed… But don’t judge or criticise 2️⃣LISTEN * Have an open mind & listen without judgement * Remove distractions & be flawlessly present with them📱❌ * Make sure you have enough time so you’re not rushing or interrupting. * Encourage them to explain what they are going through 3️⃣ENCOURAGE ACTION * Ask what they’ve done in the past that has helped * Talk through ideas of what they could do to manage the situation * Encourage them to access support or do something that might lighten the load * Be prepared for the conversation & what support services are available for them. 4️⃣CHECK IN * Stay in touch after the initial conversation * Ask how they’re feeling & keep encouraging them to take action One conversation can change everything..
