Sharing about what Miss 11 does for school, how we use screens for fun, & our plans for cell phones as she enters the teen years: As my oldest has gotten older we have slowly started to incorporate more types of screens specifically for schooling which include: •typing lessons •educational shows that go with lessons •educational game they play for 15 mins at a time How we use screens in our free time: Summers we go "screen-free" with the exception of once a month movie night September - June the kids each get to pick a few shows each Saturday morning that I join them in and watch with them ☕ Our plans as our middle schooler enters teen years: Right now only a few of her friends are just starting to get phones so it hasn't been an issues at all saying 'not right now'- we honestly want to go for as long as we possibly can without the kids getting any devices. We have a house phone (bring back the house phones 😆🙌) so her friends and family can call her or she can call us if one of us is out and about. Our future plan though once she is older is to start with a "family cell phone" this won't belong to any parent or child, it will be out in the kitchen and their friends can text them on it, call them on it ect but it's always to be understood it's a *family* cell phone so anyone can go through it, use it, ect.
