SPOTLIGHT ON STERILISATION In the past month or so, our partners @savethedogstd have been to Ukraine to meet with their partners and the vet clinics they’re working with to sterilise homeless animals. Their sterilisation programme was originally focussing on the Odessa region but they have recently expanded to Izmail and Mykolaiv; where their partner organisation collects animals from devastated villages that were on the frontline and brings them to the clinic for sterilisations. As a result of our first month’s funding support, 68 street dogs were sterilised and given rabies vaccinations across Odessa, Mykolaiv and Izmail. In total, Save the Dogs has managed to sterilise over 900 dogs and is hoping to do hundreds more in the next couple of months. Their sterilisation programme has only been made possible with the funds that we are providing them with every month. Through this programme, we are helping to prevent thousands of homeless animals from being born into short lives of suffering on the streets.
