All She Wrote Bookstore has been a staple in the Boston community as the only queer, inclusive bookstore in the area. However, after 3 years in our current location, we are now being displaced. As many of you know, we started in 2019 as an idea that had quickly evolved from a cart full of books into its first brick and mortar location during the height of the pandemic, July 2020. More recently, things have not been easy. In the past three years, All She Wrote Books’ rent has increased by 130%. Around $8,000 has been spent on HVAC issues, flooding, repair, and more. This cost doesn’t even include the price of rent, utilities, or time lost. Due to these unprecedented challenges, staying in our current location is untenable. It’s time for a new space that will allow All She Wrote Books to grow to its full capacity without fear of displacement. So, the good news is that we're not going anywhere. We love this community and are committed to serving it with the passion and warmth you've come to expect from us. That's not changing just because our address is.

Our new home in East Somerville is mighty but small, so we'll have to reimagine how we do things. All She Wrote Books is launching a campaign to raise the necessary $60,000 to make their move feasible.
