-RANCHO PENASQUITOS- Bridges, goats, & free books!! 🫶🏽Ready for a family friendly hike this weekend? When the weather cools off, we love to explore! Los Penasquitos Ranch House is perfect for hiking & getting in some animal time! We have a 2.5 mile trail that we love because it crosses over 4 bridges (one is currently down but rocks are in place) and another crossing over rocks. On the All Trails app, this trail is called Rancho Penasquitos Adobe Loop (but we turn right after PQ creek park crossing to make it shorter). Note this will not take you to the “waterfall” but say hi to @pqgoats and see if you can find Eichar’s Grave from 1800s 📍 PQ Ranch House ⏰ gates are open 8am-7pm currently 🏃🏻‍♂️ lots of trails. I recommend All Trails app to find your perfect route. 🐐Base, Holly, Pearl, & Jam will be happy for visitors & brushing. No food 🐓Lots of chickens 🐖The pig is a new addition!! He’s up the hill behind the chickens & garden. 💵Free 🥪 Bring snacks for hiking & a sack lunch to enjoy at the picnic tables at the ranch house 🚽 Portapotties at the ranch house 📚Take a book, leave a book at the free library. 🦮dogs on leash but do not bring close to animals please. 🚲Mountain biking is popular in this area. I like to hike along the narrow non-biking trails for a more peaceful experience (you’ll see the signs). Bells are available for bikers to use.
