We are typing through our tears with a grateful heart on this one. 😢 A very beloved RACC volunteer has received a health diagnosis that is initiating a more progressive plan for her estate. What was going to be a bequest, has changed to an immediate allocation so that she can see the results of her support. This wonderful person understands the reality of our work at RACC, and has gifted our foundation with a donation that will have a huge and lasting impact on life saving in the City. Her wish is to fund spay/neuter outreach for dogs, and we are working hard to bring her dream to life. To that end, we are creating a program (The Kara & Eden Fund; her dogs names), in her honor to help cover the cost of dog spay/neuter surgery for any City of Richmond resident in need. Along with our own RACC team, we are partnering with many other veterinary clinics to accomplish our short term goal of fixing 100 dogs before the end of the year. Our long term goal will establish additional options for spay/neuter subsidy throughout the City. If you, or someone you know (City residency is required) needs help with spay/neuter for their dog, please email [email protected]—we have appointments starting next Monday. Our team can provide transport for those without a transportation option. We want to help as many people as possible in an effort to reduce the number of unwanted dogs in Richmond.
