September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month! 🩸 It's crazy to think that this time four years ago, I was going through the fucked up journey of chemotherapy, feeling like crap. Younger Darlene couldn't have imagined that I'd make it to Europe four years later with my hair almost back to pre cancer length. 🙌🏽🥹✨🥰As I was trying to find some photos to post for this I ended up watching some my old videos, I notice how positively I always spoke about everything that was going on, even though I didn't always feel that way. In the video of me showing my hair falling out I remember I bursted into after recording it but you wouldn’t have guess it. Cancer is hard man. 😤 Please if you feel like something is wrong push for more tests. Remember, you know your body!! #HodgkinsLymphoma, a form of blood cancer. I experienced symptoms for months, possibly even an entire year, before getting diagnosed. These symptoms included: Painless swelling of lymph nodes in the neck, armpits, or groin (Mine was a giant lump in my neck). Persistent and unexplained fatigue or weakness (I thought I was tired from studying at uni). Unexplained fever that comes and goes (I didn't notice this). Drenching night sweats (Just thought it was hot and my sheets weren't breathable lol). Significant unintentional weight loss. Itchy skin without a known cause (I had crazy itchy feet but thought I had just got into a habit of scratching them at night). Reduced appetite or feeling full after eating a small amount. Awareness is crucial, so let's make sure others know about these symptoms and the importance of early detection. 💪🩸 #BloodCancerAwareness #hodgkinslymphomasurvivor #hodgkins
