THE MORE YOU KNOW ⬇️ 1| There’s are no prerequisites or skill sets a child needs to earn access to a robust AAC system. Any skill you’re looking for first, can be modeled and acquired while using AAC. 2| There is no single, standard way to complete an AAC assessment. As long as you obtain the information you need to make a clinical decision about which device is the best for for a child, it doesn’t really matter how you go about it. 3| All students benefit from AAC implementation in the classroom. Yes, even the students who don’t use AAC. 4| AAC implementation matters more than the activity you planned for your therapy session… and implementation should happen in the natural environment with communication partners, not just the speech therapist. 5| Sometimes, AAC takes time. Other times, it clicks right away. But no matter how long it takes, every person is worth the journey. #aacslp #schoolslp #speechtherapy #communicationdevice
